About Sing First!
Sing First! is based on the First Steps in Music program created by Dr. John Feierabend. The program was created through careful research to appropriately develop children socially, mentally, and physically. Check out what PBS has to say about music education before age 3!
“Sing First! is a music program designed for children 0-7 and their parents or caretakers who love them to attend together. Our classes provide a safe, unique, and joyful experience in which children can develop emotionally, physically, and socially; while fostering a lifelong love of music and deepening their bond with their parents. Each 45 minute class is an explosion of fun full of singing activities, instrumental play, dance and movement! Parents will take away skills to continue the fun and education at home and children will take away:
- Inspiration to listen, feel, and move to music
- Stimulated imaginative skills
- Stronger sensory awareness
- Development of language and motor skills
- Sense of ease in social situations
“I am so excited to be a part of Sing First! I received my Bachelors of Music degree at the University of West GA. My history includes over fourteen years of involvement in various music education programs including jobs such as being an elementary music teacher in Douglas and Cherokee Counties for a total of six years, the Music Director of Vacation Bible School at St. Michael the Archangel in Woodstock Music Minister/ Choir Director of Our Lady of La Salette Church in Waleska, and involvement with the Early College Program at the University of West Georgia. As well as being a studied percussionist, I am also a classically trained pianist with over fifteen years of studio lessons. You may also see me at Woodstock High School football games due to the fact that I am one of the marching band’s percussion instructors, specializing in the front ensemble (pit). I was lucky enough just over a year ago to become a mommy for the first time. Having seen the positive effects of sharing music with my own sweet little boy, I am so excited to share that knowledge, passion, and love with other children and their caretakers!”

“Sing First! is a dream come true! Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was active throughout school playing the flute and piccolo. I was also lucky to be surrounded by family who played and exposed me to many different styles of music. I have worked as the Music Director of Vacation Bible School at St. Michael the Archangel in Woodstock for many years. I have also had the joy of singing and playing in many different church choirs throughout the years. I was fortunate enough to enroll my daughter in First Steps in Music (Sing First! uses the same curriculum) when she was 6 months old and was so impressed with the effects it had on her, my husband and myself, that I couldn’t wait to start my own business based on these principles!”
